Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK) now becomes a ‘SNAYU TIRTHA’

On 13th Foundation Day Celebration of the Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK) honourable Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation Janab Firhad Hakim and other distinguished personalities inaugurated “Craniovertebral Junction Live Surgery Workshop” (to be held on 16th & 17th April) at I-NK main building 9th floor Seminar Hall on Friday, 15th April, 2022.  Renowned Bengali Actor Ms. Indrani Halder blessed the occasion as Guest of Honour. The presence of honourable guests Shri Narayan Swaroop Nigam, IAS Health Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Mr. Andalib Elias, Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kolkata, Prof. Asis Kumar Chattopadhyay, Pro-Vice-Chancellor – University of Calcutta had made that evening more glorious.

In a short span of 13 years I-NK has achieved the distinction of being the Best Single Speciality Neurology Hospital in India year on year. Now it has 190 beds and 852 full-time employees including 84 doctors and 65 RMOs are servicing their best efforts to eradicate diseases. With the supervision of the chairman Prof. (Dr.) R.P. Sengupta, OBE and the vice-chairman Dr. Rishikesh Kumar Institute of Neurosciences Kolkata (I-NK) now becomes a ‘SNAYU TIRTHA’.

Mayor Firhad Hakim told, ‘I was against the decision of Late Subrata Mukherjee, the Ex-Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation for giving the land to I-NK. But now as a Mayor I agree that I was wrong then. We appreciate them for taking decision to use Swastha Swathi Card in this hospital.’
