A housewife was found in a pool of blood

Najore Bangla, Kolkata : This morning (05.12.20) around 05:30 hrs, a housewife namely Khusbu Kumari Gupta (22) W/o Raj Kumar Gupta of L-10/21, Naskarhat Madhyapara, PS-Kasba, Kol-39 was found lying unconscious in front of her premises in a pool of blood. She was removed to CNMCH where she was declared “brought dead”.
Enquiry revealed that Khusbu Kumari was married to Raj Kumar Gupta last year (2019) and out of the wedlock they have a three months old daughter. The couple used to reside at the 3rd floor of the building at the aforesaid address along with Gopal Prasad Gupta (father) & Kalavati Devi Gupta (mother).
Off late marriage of the younger sister of Khusbu Kumari (now deceased) was fixed on 07.12.20 at Lucknow and she expressed her desire to remain present in the said marriage ceremony. Since the three months baby had suffered recent hospitalisation out of bronchitis infection, her husband refused to take her to Lucknow amid the prevailing cold weather.
This morning (05.12.20) around 05:00 hrs, Rajkumar Gupta, who works for a catering service, left house for Howrah Station to board a train to Jamshedpur. Meanwhile, Khusbu Kumari went upstairs to the terrace at 4th floor around 05:15 hrs, which was noticed by her father in law. After a while, when she was not coming back her father in law grew suspicious and went to the terrace when, around 05:30 hrs, he heard a thud sound. On checking downstairs, Gopal Prasad Gupta found Khusbu Kumari lying in the narrow passage by the building in a pool of blood.
No suicidal note, however, could be found during enquiry and no foul detected. Relatives of the deceased has been informed. The dead body will be subjected to Judicial Inquest & Post Mortem Examination under videography as per rules, to ascertain the cause of death. This refers to Kasba PS UD Case No 111/20 dt. 05.12.20.
